National Park Service

Our National Parks were created in August, 100 years ago! Called "America's Best Idea", they are certainly a cause to celebrate!

We will host Larry Salbeck, a retired National Park Service Maintenance Supervisor, on Monday, June 27 at 6:30 p.m. Larry will share his experiences working at the Golden Gate National Recreation Area in San Francisco, California. He will take your questions at the end of his talk. No reservations are required, but this should be an interesting program for anyone interested in nature, travel, or looking to learn about a different career choice. All ages are welcome.

Then we will feature the PBS movie series "America's Best Idea" beginning on Thursday, July 21 in our McBroom Community Room. This 6-part series will run through August 25 on Thursday afternoons from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. If there is interest, we will continue by showing "The Grand Canyon" on Thursday, Sept. 1. Consider celebrating these national treasures with us this summer!
