Summer Library Programs!

I am amazed at all the summer programs this library offers beyond books, CDs, DVDs, audio books, and story kits!

Stop in to see what is happening in the Lower Level! Our Summer Library Reading Program is well under way; children fulfill activities on their reading slips and turn them in for incentives. Snap a picture of your child's face peeping through one of the superhero images on the ramp. (One little girl, standing so still behind the girl superhero image, informed me that she was "scaring people!") Check out the activity tables with crafts and simple projects for children to complete - with a new one every week. Come for the free Family Programs featuring kid-friendly performers who sing, tell stories, and do magic. Attend a story hour, some with a craft and snack. Build with Legos on 2nd Saturdays. Touch a truck today near the firehouse. In August, kids can learning about writing or about bees, or try the back-to-school activities each Monday. Teens enjoyed learning to draw superheroes, and get to dress up as superheroes for a costume contest.

For the adults, our Summer Serenade Series of concerts has been wonderful! We have heard talented musicians playing a nice mix of music - bluegrass, jazz, swing and folk. Every month, we feature a new author; look for the display at the end of our NEW bookshelf, and check out a new author to read. Tech Tuesday is offered all summer on 3rd Tuesdays from 4-5 p.m. Come and get answers to your tech questions!

Our library has so much to offer. And of course, take home a book, CD, DVD, audio book, or story kit!
