January Is National Hobby Month!

It's a new year, a time when folks reflect on the year past and make resolutions, goals, and plans to make a change. To do things differently. To learn something new. To start over. The year stretches out ahead of you with so many possibilities, it is a gift to open slowly!

January has been designated "National Hobby Month". Here at the library, we have a few programs that might kick start an interest that you have been putting off or perhaps spark a new interest! We have a program about Holy Hill coming up on January 14 - it covers many interests: churches in general or Holy Hill in particular, local history, photography, writing, and self-publishing. On January 16 we have a program on the use of essential oils to enhance your home, lifestyle or sense of wellness. And you can learn (or re-learn) to knit on January 17 (Jan. 24 and Feb. 7 & 14).

We have a large collection of hobby-related books and DVDs. Stretch your creative self and try a new activity, whether it be crafting, sports, cooking, carpentry, technology - the options are endless! If you don't know where to start, stop at the circulation desk and talk to one of our staff members. We are here to help!

Get the year 2016 off to the best start and use your library to expand your skills, grow your talents, and de-stress! Come, learn, enjoy!
