Town Hall Library's Makerspace
What is a Makerspace?
Makerspaces are collaborative, creative spaces where patrons can make, learn, and share using a variety of tools and resources.
Our Makerspace is the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) activity hub of Town Hall Library – located in the lower level. It features creative play opportunities, arts & crafts supplies, and specialized technology.
Who can use it?
Everyone!
- Patrons 9th grade and above may use the Makerspace freely.
- Patrons 8th grade and under must be supervised by a librarian or an adult at all times while using the Makerspace.
When is it open?
Unless a special program is scheduled, our Makerspace will be open for families and youth during normal Library hours:
Monday-Thursday: 9:00am-8:00pm
Friday: 9:00am-5:00pm
Saturdays: 9:00am-1:00pm
What is available to use?
- Sensory play table
- Themed craft projects (2-3 per month)
- Lego Wall
- STEAM To Go Kits
- Button maker
- Nintendo Switch Game Console
Can I use the specialized equipment, too?
Our Makerspace does house creative technology. Use of this equipment is primarily through programming, librarian-provided assistance, or individual appointments. Our equipment includes:
- Cricut Machine
- 3D Printer
- Laser Engraver
- Sewing Machine
- Mini Heat Press
- Document Scanner
